Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) was watching Thursday’s fallout from a collapsed casino plan from afar.

Some of O’Malley’s fundraising activities were related to the Democratic Governors Association, which he chairs and for which he travels regularly.

But aides said he was also trying to raise funds for a couple of November
