Maryland Del. Tiffany T. Alston was found guilty Tuesday of charges that she stole $800 from the General Assembly to cover expenses of an assistant at her private law firm.
Alston (D-Prince George’s) was also convicted of misconduct in office related to the same episode, in January 2011.
If the verdicts by an Anne Arundel County Circuit Court jury stand, the freshman delegate is likely to lose her seat.
